Health & Safety
is central to our delivery so continuous training underpins everything
that we do. Our Crew Development Programme is designed to give
all new recruits a solid grounding in live production and health
and safety legislation by building up their skill levels in constructive
stages.
Stage 1: Induction Training –
delivered by our qualified events trainer as soon as an individual
joins us.
Stage 2: Crew Handbook –
issued to every employee on completion of induction training.
Regularly reviewed together with all crew members, it is a comprehensive
guide to working practices, standards and requirements in the
various event production disciplines. It is also designed to support
the Crew Development Programme.
Stage 3: SPA Safety Passport
– Backed by the Production Services Association, this training
is delivered to all members of staff. We are currently believed
to be one of the only crew companies in the UK to ensure that
all our staff gain the Passport thereby setting a new benchmark
in health and safety standards.
Stage 4: Modular Training Programme –
Throughout the year, DES offers its crew a variety of modules
in technical disciplines to ensure their skills are fully up to
date - Continually Professional Development remains a focus. The
training calendar is regularly updated and circulated so individuals
can participate in as many courses as they like (although a minimum
number must be attend to maintain their skills). Usually 5-10
crew are trained in one session to ensure everyone receives individual
attention.
Client Specific Training: We
also provide client specific training to our crew members in order
to meet the individual requirements of our customers. These training
days can take the form of an initial / induction or an update
/ refresher course. They are organised and delivered at our expense
and are held at our clients’ premises in order to immerse
every attendee in the appropriate business.
