Crew Recruitment Spring / Summer 2011

We are currently recruiting event support crew for our busy 2011 summer season.


We are looking for motivated, hard working and physically fit individuals to join our Edinburgh Crew team.

All crew areas required - Event Labour Crew, Support Crew, Fork Lift & Telehandler Operators, Experienced Marquee builders.

Support Crew General Duties
       Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Providing manual labour and support to our clients production crew
  • The safe unloading and loading of clients vehicles
  • In some cases, Support Crew will be experienced in a particular discipline (eg. lighting, sound, AV etc.) and may provide supervised support to a specific technical department
  • Lighting - Hanging, focusing, gelling, cabling and basic operation of lighting system components
  • Sound - Setting up, operating and taking down sound systems
  • Audio Visual - Setting up, operating, and taking down plasma screens, projection screens, media players, video/data projectors, screens, dissolve units and other related audio visual equipment
  • Troubleshooting and making minor on-the-spot repairs when necessary
  • Ensuring equipment is secure before, during, and after an event
  • Assisting with various warehouse operations as required


Basic Requirements for Applicants
       You must be:

  • 18 years or over
  • Self-motivated
  • Pro-active and hard-working with a can-do attitude
  • Physically fit
  • Presentable
  • Punctual
  • Professional
  • Fluent in English


Experience

Practical technical experience within a live production environment is an preferred but not essential as we provide full induction training. Previous technical experience may include school productions, amateur dramatics, a relevant college or university course or another recognised training programme. Induction and basic training will be provided and 'on the job' experience will lead to improved standards and competence. We also offer an ongoing crew development programme including both internal and external courses on industry specific topics.

Hours and Rate of Pay

Work depends on client requirements and is offered on a shift by shift basis. Flexible working hours are available to fit in with other commitments including study or other work. However, successful applicants should be prepared to work at short notice and during unsociable hours. Shifts can start 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Remuneration is dependent on experience but is regularly reviewed as your skills develop. We also offer excellent prospects and training opportunities to develop your skills further.
We are also looking for experienced specialist technicians:

Lighting Technicians, Sound Technicians, AV Technicians, PowerPoint Operators, Camera Operators, Riggers, Scenic Artists, Stage Managers, Drivers (car, van, 7.5tn trucks and HGV), Cherry Picker & Fork Truck Operators (all types)
